Citizens should speak English, says Tom Tancredo who is boycotting a Republican presidential debate that will be held in Spanish.

Univision will be holding the Spanish language debate in Miami, Florida. Plans to hold the debate last August failed, when only amnesty supporter John McCain agreed to show up. However, since then every candidate except Tom Tancredo has agreed to participate.

”Why is it, in order to speak to [Hispanics], you have to speak to them in Spanish, or you have to be translated to them in Spanish?” Tancredo said on CNN. “If you are going to vote in this country, you should be a citizen. To be a citizen in this country you should know English.”
