New Orleans the Homicide Capitol for 2007

CofCC News Team

Surpassing the record it set in 2006 with 161 murders the city of New Orleans set a new record with 209 in the year of 2007. With a population just under 300,000 this means that there are 71 murders for every 100,000 people. Not even Detroit, which was named the most dangerous city (adding in rape, robbery, and assault in addition to murder), could come close to the rate New Orleans has set. Given the incompetence of Mayor Ray Nagin and the corruption of Congressman William Jefferson one can only reflect that New Orleans is in for more of the same as the populace continues to elect and excuse the corruption of much of the cities black leadership.
