Will Democratic Super Delegates Rescue Hillary?

CofCC.org Election 2008 Coverage

Hillary barely eked out a victory in Indiana with 51% of the vote, while Obama won with 56% in North Carolina.

Over 90% of black voters in North Carolina and Indiana voted Obama. About 60% of whites Democratic voters voted for Hillary in both states. 34% of Democratic voters in NC were black and 17% in Indiana.

Indiana appears to signal a change in the voting behavior of white Democrats. More whites stayed home and didn’t vote than in similar states earlier in the primary season.

The Democratic party is inching closer to an all out battle over race. With Obama’s close relationship to militant black nationalists and radical Marxists, he would have a hard time swaying white people in a general election. On the other hand, major black politicians have already threatened race riots if the Super Delegates give the nomination to Hillary.
