Sonny Landham, C of CC Video Star, Runs for US Senate

Action film star and C of CC activist Sonny Landham has entered the US Senate race in Kentucky as the Libertarian Party nominee. Famous for his roles as looming, pumped-up brawlers in movies such as 48 Hours, Predator, and Southern Comfort, Landham turned to politics after his film career began to wind down in the 1990s.

In 2003, Landham entered the Republican gubernatorial primary race in Kentucky; preceeded in politics by Predator co-stars Jesse Ventura and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who were elected governors in Minnesota and California respectively. Following his bid for governor, Landham ran for the Kentucky State Senate in 2004.

In 2006, Sonny Landham co-produced America Under Attack, a video funded by the Conservative Citizens Foundation. The video features a four-member panel with Landham as moderator. (The video is available through The Conservative Citizens Foundation.)

Landham faces incumbent Republican Mitch McConnell and Democratic challenger Bruce Lunsford in his campaign for US Senator from Kentucky.

Sonny Landham will be a special guest on the Political Cesspool Radio show Sunday afternoon, June 29, at 4 PM Central Time.
