According to state records, Obama awarded a $100,000 grant to a former campaign volunteer while he was a State Senator. The money was supposed to have gone for a “botanical garden” for a “blighted” (akak black) neighborhood.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times less than $3,000 was actually spent on the “garden.”
