Another Black on White Murder to start off the new year!

According to the American Nurses Association, femicide (murder of a female by a male intimate partner) is a leading cause of death among young black women. The association reports that white females who have relationships with black males suffer the same high rate of femicide as their black counterparts. Black males are over 8 times more likely to murder an intimate partner than whites. Read More.

One man is now behind bars in Weber County, suspected of stabbing his girlfriend to death. North Ogden police say 23-year-old Brittany Nichols was found dead in the bedroom of her apartment Sunday afternoon. Her boyfriend, 21-year-old Johnny Bell, lived with her, but following the murder, he was no where to be found.

North Ogden Police Chief Polo Afuvai said Bell has confessed to the crime. “Brittany told Johnny that their relationship was over,” said Chief Afuvai “That didn’t sit well with him.” Afuvai said Brittany was “stabbed multiple times in the upper and lower torso”.

Police said there was no history of domestic violence between the couple and KUTV is told Bell does not have a previous criminal history.
