Low taxes fueled an economic revolution in Ireland which was dubbed the “Celtic Tiger” by the international media. Now law makers have proposed a large tax on public servant pensions amidst a crippling recession. Police say over 100,000 people protested in Dublin.
The prime ministers of Iceland and Latvia have both resigned due to the global economic crises. Riots have occurred in numerous Eastern European countries. Many fear large scale riots will hit Spain next.
