Islamic minorities begin new campaign of violence against Moscow.

Two female suicide bombers detonated explosives in Moscow aimed at killing random civilians. Islamic groups around the Caucasian mountains are believed to be responsible.

Russia has fought rebel Islamic militias in Chechnya twice in the recent past. The leader of one militia posted “Blood will no longer be limited to our (Chechen) cities and towns. The war is coming to their cities.”

Thirty eight were killed and dozens more wounded. Both suicide bombers detonated their explosives in crowded metro stations. It was the biggest attack on civilian targets in six years. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin both vowed to swiftly crush the Islamic militias.
