CofCC charter member Betty Furniss passed away.

Betty Furniss was a founding member of the CofCC. She had also been a leader in the Citizens Councils of America, and founded DeSoto County Academy, a private school in Mississippi. DeSoto County Academy remains to this day, a low cost private school. It features a “Christ Centered” education where students are not subject to social experimentation by the Federal government.

Visitation will be held at Heartland Church Tuesday, June 21, from 6-8 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at Heartland Church in Southaven, MS on Wednesday, June 22, at 2 p.m. with burial at Twin Oaks Cemetery. A reception at Heartland Church will follow her burial.

A contingent of CofCC National Directors are preparing to attend the funeral, including John Casteel, Tom Dover, Bill Lord, Ray Martin, James Edwards, and possibly others.
