Has increased diversity helped Lockheed Martin?

Lockheed Martin has been bragging about its affirmative action created diverse workplace.

The aircraft you see in this Lockheed Martin promotion is an F-22. It is flanked by a black woman and an Asian woman with a message proclaiming that their “diverse” workforce makes it a better company.

The F-22 project took over twenty years to design at a cost to the US taxpayers of $62 Billion. Lockheed Martin began delivering the completed planes in 2006.

Now the entire fleet has been grounded INDEFINITELY due to problems with the oxygen delivery systems. The pilots can’t breath at high altitudes. There has been one crash and several close calls because of the problem.

Ironically it took years for the problem to come to a head, because after spending $62 Billion on the planes the US government couldn’t afford to let pilots train on them!

In the 1950s and 1960s Lockheed performed what seemed the impossible. They did it with white male engineers. How can a company built on “diversity” build a better plane than a company built on competency?
