Discovery targets young children with twelve year old transvestite
The Hub, formerly known as Discovery Kids, airs programming targeted towards young children. The network’s newest show stars a twelve year old boy who fights crime as a transvestite. The show was originally created and aired in Australia. It will now air on cable in the United States.
Discovery Kids became “The Hub,” when the Discover Communications sold 50% of ownership to the toy company Hasbro. The other 50% is still owned by Discover Communications which operates the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, Science Channel, and more.
Executives say The Hub programming is aimed at children aged 2-11.
