For years, white people have feared that full scale genocide would begin when Nelson Mandela dies. A common insult that a black person will say to a white person in South Africa is “wait until Mandela dies.”

Nelson Mandela has been removed from life support and is expected to die. On June 26th, as he lay dying, South African president sang “Awulethu’ Mshini Wami” and dedicated the song to Mandela. The song is technically banned under South African law because it is intended to incite violence against white people.
