Support for secession growing among Republicans in Wisconsin

The GOP governing body for congressional district 6 has already passed a resolution asserting Wisconsin’s right to secede from the United States.

Has Obama made secession mainstream? Has he seized so much new power, so fast, that even people in liberal Wisconsin are talking about secession?

Wisconsin has eight regional GOP governing bodies, one for each congressional district. Last March, region six passed a resolution re-affirming the right of Wisconsin to secede from the United States.

The main part of the resolution states “Be it further resolved that we strongly insist our state representatives work to uphold Wisconsin’s 10th Amendment rights, and our right to secede, passing legislation affirming this to the U.S. Federal Government.”

Now the resolutions committee for the state executive committee has approved a vote on a similar resolution at the party’s state convention. The convention will be held May 2nd-4th.

For years, county, regional, and state GOP executive committees have been passing resolutions endorsing nullification. Secession takes that a big step further.

At least two state, Arizona and Montana, have passed resolutions by the state legislature affirming the right to secede if a Federal ban on guns is ever enacted.
