Black on white hate crime killing in Charleston, SC


Two black males were arrested for shooting a killing a white male in broad daylight in Charleston, SC. The killing took place in a heavily gentrified part of downtown Charleston. Middle class white live in close proximity to housing projects and black gangs.

The media is downplaying the broad daylight killing as “a drug deal gone bad.” The perps haves been charged with murder and armed robbery.

The same suspects were arrested for burglarizing a home less than two months ago!

The shooting took place about 4 p.m. on Percy Street, which is between Spring and Line streets in Charleston’s rapidly changing Elliotborough neighborhood.

Jarrod Howard of Hanahan died from a gunshot wound, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Brittney Martin said. He had been taken to Medical University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just before 5 p.m., she said.

Ahshaad Mykiel Owens, 19, of Chatham Avenue, is charged with murder, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Phillip Daniel Jewell II, 20, of Quail Hollow Court, is charged with murder and armed robbery.

Both were being held in the Cannon Detention Center. Both had been arrested before.

Charleston police arrested Jewell in the summer of 2013 on two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of grand larceny, according to court records. Charleston County deputies arrested Owens on a second-degree burglary charge in October 2013.
