Another major US foreign policy asset is now an ISIS commander
Colonel Gulmurod Khalimov was trained in the United States to lead the most elite police force in Tajikistan. It is called OMON. One of the purposes of OMON is to fight Jihadists.
Khalimov walked off the job last April. He has now re-emerged as an ISIS commander. In an official ISIS propaganda video he pledges to lead Jihadists against the governments of Tajikistan, Russia, and the United States. In a message to the government of Tajikistan he says “if only you knew how many boys, our brothers are here, waiting and yearning to return to reestablish sharia law there.”
To the United States he says “Listen, you American pigs, I’ve been three times to America, and I saw how you train fighters to kill Muslims. God willing, I will come with this weapon to your cities, your homes, and we will kill you.”
Khalimov is just the latest in a long line of US trained Sunni Jihadists going back to the 1980s. Thousands of Sunni Jihadists fighting for ISIS were trained and armed by the United States. This includes former “Libyan Rebels”, former “Syrian Rebels,” and former members of the US backed Sons of Iraq security force. Partially declassified documents prove that the Obama administration armed and trained “Syrian Rebels” even though their own internal memos declared that the uprising was dominated by “Salafists, Muslim Brotherhood, and al-Qaeda.” One document predicted the rise of the ISIS Caliphate 17 months in advance.
The circumstances surrounding Khalimov mirrors the US involvement in the creation of the Los Zetas Mexican drug cartel. Leaders of the Cartel were trained by US Special Forces in North Carolina. They were trained to use the most advanced and classified US combat tactics. Their mission was to fight other cartels. Instead, many simply defected to the cartels and a group of them eventually formed their own cartel.
