Europe will become more dependent on Russia and less dependent on Ukraine

Germany is phasing out all nuclear power plants. The final nuclear reactors will shut down in 2022.

Coal is currently the largest source of electricity in Germany, but it under attack. Currently, the German government wants to completely phase out coal by 2038.

Russian natural gas could potentially become the leading source of electricity in Germany very soon.

The move also sidelines Ukraine as a major player in regional natural gas.
