The final two suspects in the brutal Long Beach racially motivated beating of three young women, have been slapped on the wrist. In exchange for guilty pleas, hate crime charges were dropped and they were sentenced three months in custody and nine weeks of after school “sensitivity training.” The after school class for the two boys will be conducted by the Simon Wiesenthal Center and cost the city [taxpayers] as much as $23,000.

One of these two beat a woman with a skateboard causing multiple skull fractures and permanent vision damage.

Think they have learned their lesson? One of the two has already been charged with another felony for allegedly mugging a woman last month.

But the physical and emotional effects of the attack linger on for the victims.

“They’re all still seeing doctors,” said Scott Bailey, 31, whose 19-year-old sister, Laura Schneider, was hit in the back of the head with a skateboard and kicked on the ground while unconscious.

“My sister continues to deal with sinus and peripheral vision problems,” he said. “Another woman has not fully recovered from facial surgery required because her face was bashed into a tree.”
