United States of Murder. News Team

Analysis by Kyle Rogers

BBC Blasts US murder rate, but censors any reference to race. BBC compared the murder rates of 9 American cities and 20 European cities. The top six most violent are all American cities with a large percentage of blacks or a large percentage of both blacks and Hispanics. In fact 8 of the top 9 are all American cities. Only Moscow, where there is still violence over the assets of the former Soviet Union, made the top 9. Besides Moscow, the highest ranking European cities were Helsinki and Lisbon. Helsinki is only a half million people and has seen it’s crime rate explode after accepting large numbers of immigrants from Somalia and various Islamic countries. This online Helsinki travel guide urges tourists to avoid the two main immigrant neighborhoods. Lisbon has a large concentration of illegal aliens from Africa.

From BBC…

A survey conducted by the UK Home Office of 20 European and nine North American cities put the US capital way out in front with a murder rate of 69.3 per 100,000 population.

That suggests Washington is about 170 times more dangerous than the Belgian capital, Brussels, which came bottom with 0.4 murders per 100,000. Black commit murder at a rate 9 times that of whites and 3 times that of Hispanics.

Belfast was the most dangerous UK city in the survey with a death rate of 4.4. Edinburgh’s figure was 2.4. (Note: 4.4 is lower than the national average in the United States!)

According the the US Department of Justice, between 1976-2006, black made up 13% of the US population, but accounted for 59% of felony homicides. Click here to view sources.

Why do major media sources like the BBC print this type of report, but deliberately censor the reason for the murder rate disparities?
