This cold-blooded killer plea bargained his way to a “voluntary manslaughter” charge. He shot and killed a father of three in front of his three year old daughter. He had been previously glorified by the media as a ten year old anti-violence poster boy. The innocent victim appears to have been chosen at random.

A Roxbury man who as a boy begged Gov. William F. Weld to “stop the violence” and “put the bad people in jail,” pleaded guilty yesterday to voluntary manslaughter for the 2001 shooting death of Alvaro “Dongi” Sanders, 25.

Suffolk Superior Court Judge Peter M. Lauriat did just as Jason Meeks, 27, asked Weld to do in a 1991 letter he penned at age 10 and sentenced the killer to 17 years in state prison.
