HIV/AIDS Bombshell: Most new cases in the South are among blacks. News Team

Over half of all new people diagnosed with HIV in the United States are black, despite being only 13% of the population. In the south, where blacks make up the higher percentages, the overwhelming majority of new cases are among blacks.

HIV rates are down in most of the country, except for areas with high percentages of blacks. Among blacks, HIV rates are still growing. Ten years ago white scientists, who predicted the rise of AIDS among black Americans, were denounced as “racists.”

In 2005, the rate of AIDS diagnoses for African Americans was approximately 10 times the rate of Caucasians and almost three times that of Hispanics.

Additionally, AIDS disproportionately affects African-American women with a diagnosis rate almost 23 times that of Caucasian women in 2005.

Keep in mind that the CDC has reported in the past that blacks are more likely to be living with undiagnosed HIV than whites. So the real rates of those infected are even higher!

Right here in the nation’s capitol, the HIV/AIDS epidemic rivals that of many Third World countries. Washington D.C. is approximately 60 black. One in 20 of it’s residents is thought to have HIV, and 1 in 50 of its residents to have AIDS. Of the 3,269 HIV cases identified between 2001 and 2006 who tested positive nine out of 10 were black.

“African-American women are 83 percent of all [new] cases that we can document,” said Bambi Gaddist, executive director of the South Carolina HIV/AIDS Council and a member of the AIDS Coalition board of directors. “And the new epidemic is young people. They’re between 22 and 24.”

“The Washington data is really a microcosm of what we already know: that AIDS in America today is a black disease,” said Phil Wilson, founder of the Black AIDS Institute, an HIV/AIDS think tank that focuses exclusively on AIDS among black Americans.

Meanwhile, Sen. John Kerry and other far-left US politicians are fighting to legalized HIV+ immigration. Canada allows HIV+ immigrants to move in. In 2005, 16% of all new HIV cases were linked to an immigrant. Read Article.
